Boyana Maynalovska is a freelance musician based in Vienna and Florence. Her distinguished educational background focused on Baroque music. She completed postgraduate studies at the Conservatorio di Musica “Giovanni Battista Martini” in Bologna, where she specialized in 17th and 18th Century Italian music, under the tutelage of the Baroque violinist Enrico Gatti. She holds a Master of Arts in Baroque Viola from the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz, Austria, where she studied under Michi Gaigg, and she has earned multiple degrees from the Musikhochschule Würzburg in Germany, including a Master of Music in Baroque Violin and Konzertdiplom in Classical Violin. She performs regularly on period instruments with ensembles such as Austria’s L’Orfeo Baroque Orchestra and Italy’s ‘I Musici del Gran Principe’ and has appeared numerous times with illustrious Baroque Ensembles including: Ensemble ‘Barucco’, ‘Rossetti Players’ – Austria;‘SìBarÒ’ Ensemble, Modo Antiquo – Italy; ‘Ensemble 1800’, Dresden Festival Orchestra, ‘Main – Barockorchester’ – Germany; Orquestra Barroca de Mateus – Portugal; ‘La Chapelle Harmonique’ – France; Baročni orkester ‘Megaron’ – Slovenia; Festival Ensemble of the ‘Sofia Baroque Arts Festival’ – Bulgaria etc. In addition she has participated in numerous CD recordings: ‘Habsburg Music for 2 Trumpets’ (2024) and ‘Biber meets Vejvanovsky’ (2018) – Jean-François Madeuf and The Rosetti Players, Accent; ‘Nisi Dominus & Stabat Mater’ – A. Mühlbacher, C. Ziemski and Ensemble Scaramouche, Preiser Records 2020; ‘Arias for the Emperor’ – M. Ladurner and Biber Consort, Pan Classics 2021 etc. In December 2024, his album “Musica Bononiensis“ was released, dedicated to the music of composers from the Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna in the late 17th and early 18th centuries and produced by NovAntiqua Records. As a member of the Lombardini Quartet in Vienna, she focuses on the rediscovery and performance of undiscovered or forgotten musical gems of the early classical period.
