Joanna Dobrowolska

Violinist, enthusiast of playing chamber and orchestral music in ensembles as well as the intimacy of solo performances. She started her musical studies in Akademia Muzyczna in Łódź, Poland, where she graduated in modern violin with prof. Michał Grabarczyk. She further develops in Hochschule der Kunste Bern, Switzerland. She discovers passion for early music and dedicates her further studies to baroque violin guided by Enrico Gatti in Conservatorio di Milano and Conservatorio di Bologna. She performed numerous concerts in Europe both in ensembles and solo. Collaborates with La Risonanza, la Capella di San Petronio in Bologna, Luther’s Bach Ensemble in Groningen, Collezione Tagliavini in Bologna, Altberg Ensemble, Giardino di Delizie, Conservatorio di Como, Conservatorio di Bologna and Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano. She had the pleasure to collaborate with inspring artists such as Ton Koopman, Marcallo Gatti, Fabio Bonizzoni, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Stefano Montanari, Marco Beasley, Paul Esswood, Liuwe Tamminga, Alberto Grazzi, Valeria Montanari, Gary Graden, Maria Lindal. She is a winner of musical competitions as a solist and member of ensemble, among which a finalist of 6° Baroque music and Musicological Studies International Competition Prince Francesco Maria Ruspoli a Vignanello. Following thoughts of Geminiani and Tartini, she treats the sound of violin as her own voice, working with passion and intention of seizing the aspects of the early music which resonate with her and are relevant today. Joanna recorded for DUX, Parco della Musica Records and others. She plays a violin built by Andrea Castagneri in 1764 in Paris.
