Manuela Albano

After graduating in cello in Naples with Maestro E. Salvatore, she continued her studies in Italy and abroad with L. Piovano, F.M. Ormezowski, A. Meunier, and R. Aldulescu. She has attended courses at the Accademia Chigiana, the Fiesole School of Music, and the Accademia della Scala. She has collaborated with numerous orchestras (Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Parma, Pomeriggi Musicali, Savona Symphony Orchestra, La Scala Philharmonic, and the Verdi Orchestra in Milan), including as a principal or concerto soloist (Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Rossini Symphony Orchestra in Pesaro, Alma Mahler Sinfonietta, Lucana Symphony Orchestra, and the Italian Youth Orchestra), under the direction of Giulini, Muti, Sinopoli, and Oren, among others. In a wide variety of chamber music ensembles, she has collaborated with Quarta, Ciccolini, Rossi, Postinghel, Baiano, Cusano, Boano, Manara, Canino, Azzolini, and Pay, among others. She has recorded for Naxos, Stradivarius, Mode Records, and Da Vinci. With the Gagliano Quartet, she has performed, among other projects, the complete Beethoven quartets. She graduated with honors in Modern Literature from the University of Naples “Federico II.”
